Favourite floss colour!

Georgia: This blue is probably my favourite, and I use it a lot! I'm rather fond of the green too...and they look nice together. ;-)
Nicole: Only yesterday I blogged about my crush on DMC colour variation 4160 but I also love this Winnie the Pooh Gold floss so much!

  1. Ok guys, I've been bitten by the stitching bug. I'm planning a shopping trip this weekend to buy some embroidery supplies. I wish I could take the two of you with me because I feel like I don't really know what I'm doing. Wouldn't that be fun?!? :)

Any advice for a beginner? Or maybe a list of your absolute favorite, can't live without, go to items?!? Pretty please?

  2. Hooray! It's always good to hear that someone else has been been by the embroidery bug! Savage little insect that it is. ;-)
You don't need much - a hoop (the non slip plastic ones are great), some needles, a washable/water-erasable fabric marker, some floss, and a pair of pretty embroidery scissors just makes it fun. ;-) You don't even need to know many stitches. I use split stitch, back stitch, french knots, the ocassional lazy daisy, and not much else!
I wish I could go shopping with you too!

  3. What Georgia said! And I would choose 'mouline' or '6 stranded' floss as it is easy to work with. And as for needles you might want to get an pack with assorted (sharp)Embroidery needles. And here's some info on fabrics you could use: http://www.flickr.com/groups/embroideredstuff/discuss/72157623429806929/
Good luck & sorry we can't be there in person(s) to help out!

  4. Thank you for sharing all of that great information! You can bet I will be thinking of you both and smiling when I go shopping. You are such an inspiration! :) I think I am most excited about picking out a whole handful of pretty colored floss to play with.
